With the massive amount of confusion in America about COVID-19, I created this app with a singular focus: ‘statistical exposure’.

What is ‘statistical exposure’?

‘Statistical exposure’ is the calculation of the rates of new cases plus deaths in your specific area revealing how often you might pass someone who is exposing you to the virus while calculating the percentage of your chance of death. (Statistically, not literally.)

It’s hard to keep track of everyone in America, but the goal was to create an app that would at least keep us aware of how often we might be crossing paths with the deadly virus. Monitoring this information could help many maintain practices that will keep communities safe based on what’s happening in the specific area.

the density of the problem is not the same everywhere

With all the bitching and fussing about masks and how the lock down effects our economy, it would serve us well to take notes and
figure out how we can do this better the next time. This app can give specific statistics information for exactly where a user is.

Determining the type of signal a smartphone is able to see/give off in order to count each phone it passes is one of our biggest obstacles with this project. Most of the usual trackers require each person to set it up to be tracked, but accuracy requires that every phone is recognized and counted, not just the people participating with the app.
