THE HIVE is a site-specific project design for Phipps Conservatory in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, where we will convert the entire facility – inside and out – into a very active beehive. Visitors can watch a dramatically oversized bee draw pollen from a flower while outside and then venture into the building’s grand glass atriums where they’ll be inside the hive observing the bees getting very busy with the work of making honey and tending to their responsibilities in the colony.

This will be a dynamic and impactful way to get inside the bee’s world to reveal just how important they are to various parts of our lives.
