THE REF is a combination app and website that uses an artificial intelligence mediator to intervene on a subject as it is being discussed. Using news, and media data resources, and fact-checking, along with artificial intelligence, that can recognize and de-escalate human behavior during debates or arguments. THE REF will slow down conversations, and pause arguments so that helpful dialog can resume and educate all involved.

To engage with this project, a participant will set up a member profile, agreeing to and accepting that the intent of the project is to facilitate our ability to communicate, thereby healing the divide between us.

A part of this mending will be for every member to understand that they will be required to read opposing viewpoints from other participants.

We will create a captive audience of members who are willing to be a part of this exchange, understanding its goal. We do not plan on reaching the embedded mindsets.

Artificial intelligence would suggest topics for discussion so people could bring their thoughts into the communication via chat. During this chat room conversation, AI will be fact-checking live and directly while the conversation is unfolding. Then the AI will begin attaching comments to messages in the discussion as arguments arise. These comments are about accuracy with links for back-up information to educate everyone using this app. This will help make it clear what patterns can cause people to shut down, essentially ending conversations on a subject when further discussion could actually educate all involved.

THE REF will directly seeks to give us forums where in which we can begin learning to discuss talk about important subject matter on which that we have lost the ability to talk about collectively.
